New research concludes that men spend a year of their lives checking out women, according to a story published by Telegraph.co.uk. But I say that estimate is way too low.

Basing its conclusion on a poll of 3,000 people in Great Britain, the researchers say the average man spends almost 43 minutes a day staring at 10 different women.

First off, don't we all know guys who seem to spend about 43 of every 60 waking minutes ogling women?

Doing some math, the researchers conclude that the nearly 43 minutes a day adds up to 259 hours, almost 11 days, each year, making a total of 11 months and 11 days between the ages of 18 and 50.

I'm wondering why they assume that men don't start looking at women until they're 18 and then stop for some reason at 50. I'd argue that males have a lot more spare time before 18 and after 50 and most put that time to good use.

Before you rush to judgment and conclude that these guys are wasting large portions of their lives, you should know the story reports that 35 percent of the men polled say they started a relationship with someone after eyeing her up.

The story does not say how many men were slapped, slapped with a restraining order, given dirty looks or called names.

Before you disparage men, you should know that the research finds that women engage in this practice, too, but women spend only about half as much time, 20 minutes a day, scoping out men.

Apparently women have more important things to do, such as tending to their hair or putting on makeup.

On the other hand, women might spend more time looking at men if we would spend more time on grooming, but then that would give us less time to look at women.

I believe girl watching starts before a guy turns 15 , man you should have seen some of the babes in my high school. Anyway, later when the rings are exchanged and things settle, fact is, looking is sort of okay , touching, and a husband finds his baggage is on the front porch when he gets home. (can happen). Besides, I was raised as a bloke with bloke mates and if you were not gawking at the women going by then you must be going blind or stupid. Not to forget you must always compliment your lady at all the necessary times that way your sins are forgiven.
