In a divorce, you can demand the house, not the kidney

My co-workers Pam and Maria were right. You can't demand a kidney's return once you've given it away.

Last month, I took the side of Dr. Richard Batista, who wanted his estranged wife to return the kidney he gave her, because, he says, she went out with his transplanted kidney and cheated on him, according to an Associated Press story.

I figured that if she wanted a new boyfriend, or even a new husband, she could court him using somebody else's kidney.

But the New York Supreme Court disagrees.

So make sure you get it right if you ever have to decide who in your life is kidney worthy.
