The Rhode Island State Police won't chase the lawn mower man out of the Ocean State, if he makes it this far, and he calls ahead. "Obviously he can't drive down 95 on his lawn mower, unless it goes 60 mph and is properly equipped," said Lt. Eric Croce, of the Rhode Island State Police. But Croce said the state police would be willing to work with lawn mower man Louis Ransom, 48, of Fife Lake, Mich., since he's involved in a charitable cause. Ransom, who calls himself "Travelndude," is trying to raise money for Children's Miracle Network and Shriner's Hospital for Children and also set a record by traveling 30,000 miles through every state in the country on a "Dixie Chopper," billed by its maker as the "world's fastest lawn mower." A police officer in Montpelier, Vt., sidetracked Ransom's effort Friday, because his lawn mower wasn't registered to travel on the state's roads. Last we heard, Ransom and his lawnmower had gotten a ride to New Hampshire, where he planned to continue his journey. The itinerary on his Web site shows that he plans to visit Rhode Island after New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Croce said he might be able to work with state Traffic Commission in getting Ransom approval to ride through the Ocean State, but he needs advance notice. "We haven't heard anything from his folks. They they would be the ones that would have to reach out for us," Croce said. CommentsLeave a comment |

Good luck on your trip. It would be a good idea to put a long Bicycle type FLAG on the back of your Mower , for a little bit more Safety .
